Getting to know you – Bunmi Osoba (RGN INP)

We’re heading behind the scenes at the Karidis clinic as we get to know the specialist team behind the treatments.

We sat down with Bunmi – our resident nurse prescriber – to learn why she first wanted to work in the aesthetic industry, what she enjoys most about her role and why she chose to work at Karidis.

Q: Where did you train to be a nurse?

A: I studied for my nursing degree at the University of West London.

Q: How long have you been an aesthetic nurse/practitioner?

A: I had a fascination for skin health and trained in aesthetics, obtaining my CIBTAC qualification in 2005. Following that I wanted to expand my knowledge, so I went on to study at the University of West London and gained my nursing degree.

My passion for becoming an aesthetics nurse began when working alongside cosmetic surgeons and doctors before I trained in non-surgical procedures, which I now specialise in.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role at Karidis? Why?

A: I most enjoy consulting and planning treatment programmes for patients in order to achieve their desired aesthetic goals, with the use of the various innovative and efficient equipment we have in our clinic.

Q: What brought you to Karidis?

A: I wanted to take the opportunity to work with a highly skilled surgeon within a world-renowned clinic.

Q: What inspired you to work in the aesthetic industry?

A: The fact that I would be helping people to achieve their aesthetic goals. Having a commitment to excellence and a dedication to providing outstanding service to patients was also very important to me in my career.

Q: Tell us your biggest career achievement to date?

A: Achieving a Nurse Independent Prescriber qualification.

Q: What are your views on cosmetic surgery?

A: It’s incredible knowing that procedures and techniques are ever changing and evolving with time. It’s a fascinating industry to be a part of.

Q: What are you currently most impressed with in our ever evolving beauty industry?

A: It would have to be Micro Focused Ultrasound (Ultherapy). This is a treatment for the face that has been developed to treat skin laxity in a safe and efficient manner, therefore improving the skin quality.

Secondly, the innovative Miradry procedure, which minimises excessive sweating in the underarm areas.

Q: Let us into at least one of your to beauty /anti-ageing secrets…

A: I have a passion for tennis therefore it would have to be nutrition and exercise, being able to treat the skin from within.

Q: Who would your top 3 dinner guests be? They can be famous, historical, from the past or present – anyone!

A: Serena Williams, Martha Stewart and Joan Rivers.
