Quick Links
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
The initial contact can either be performed in person or via a secure, virtual consultation. Our surgeons Mr Alex Karidis and his associate Mr Mark Ho-Asjoe will listen carefully to your concerns and expectations from surgery and will assess you physically.
Karidis Clinic can offer an interpreting service called Silent Sounds. Please let us know what your first language is when you are arranging your initial consultation and we will arrange interpreting services accordingly.
Silent Sounds can provide a range of services with over 250 languages for Face to Face, Video and Telephone Interpreting, as well as British Sign Language.
If initial contact is online, then it can be helpful to send digital photographs in advance of your consultation. These will be kept in confidence and only viewed by your surgeon and our staff.
Your surgeon can then advise you on which procedure or combination of procedures are most appropriate. They will give you comprehensive information on the procedures, covering the potential benefits, any risks you should consider and what you can expect from the recovery process.
The consultation fee covers any further consultations you require in the first year, which can be held either virtually or in clinic.
STEP 2: SCHEDULING
Once our surgeons have decided that you are a suitable candidate for surgery, our Patient Coordinators will be in touch to discuss fees and any other associated costs, help you schedule your surgery and provide you with the information you require to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
Karidis Clinic operates out of the world-famous St John & St Elizabeth Hospital and all pre-surgery tests can be performed at the hospital. Alternatively, we will provide you with a list of required tests to be carried out at the location of your choice.
You will require an in-person consultation before going ahead with surgery. This will ensure that you are fit and well for surgery and are fully informed before making the decision to proceed. This will take place the day before your operation. The planned procedures will be confirmed, and preoperative photographs will be taken.
Our interpretation service is available for this in-person consultation and on the day of your procedure so you can ask any questions you may have and also feel and  reassured and comfortable.
STEP 3: PATIENT COACHING
We are constantly evolving and enhancing the support we provide for patients and now offer access to our Karidis Clinic patient coaches.
The service is led by certified Transformational Life Coach, Kimberley, who brings her experience as a coach to supporting patients through their surgical journey. Kimberley has been with the Karidis team for over five years as Clinic Manager and brings this wealth of experience to her role of Patient Coach.
Once you have booked your surgery, you will have access to two coaching sessions with our coaches both pre- and post-operatively which we can offer online via Zoom or other platforms.
The purpose of these sessions is to provide you with the opportunity to discuss what may be coming up for you around your surgery in a safe and confidential space and to enable you to feel prepared for the important healing period after your procedure.
STEP 4: AFTERCARE
We advise international patients to plan a stay in London or the surrounding area for at least 7 – 10 days after their operation.
The first night’s stay will be in the St John & St Elizabeth Hospital. Newly refurbished, the hospital offers the very highest standard of healthcare accommodation, boasting stylish and relaxing private rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms.
You will be seen by your surgeon before being discharged and our dedicated surgical nurse will advise you on your initial recovery period and you can access 24 hour on-call support should you need it. A week after surgery, you will be seen by your Karidis Clinic surgeon for your first follow-up appointment, and they will advise you when it is safe to return home. All follow-ups in the first year after surgery can then be performed as virtual consultations.
For the rest of the stay, we have secured special rates with a luxury serviced apartment provider in Central London and a leading London hotel in the heart of St John’s Wood. Our Patient Coordinators can help arrange your stay in London and organise private chauffeurs or subsidised parking.
