A year in review at Karidis Clinic

most popular plastic surgery procedures

As we look forward to 2025, we are taking a moment to reflect on what was another exciting year at the Karidis Clinic. In February, we appeared in the Tatler Beauty & Cosmetic Surgery Guide and featured in the Tatler Address Book, the definitive directory of the most glam clinics, sought-after cosmetic docs and leading plastic surgeons.

Towards the end of the year, we launched our podcast Konfidence with Alex Karidis. Our patients are the foundation of our practice, and in the podcast, Alex explores their real-life, empowering journeys.

Our non-surgical clinic continues to be at the forefront of aesthetic innovation. This year, we introduced Profhilo Structura, Polynucleotides, Microtox, and Light Eyes. These unique injectables are revolutionising the tweakment scene with their ability to rejuvenate and revitalise.

Another development we feel really good about was the introduction of our Patient Coaching. We are constantly evolving and enhancing the support we provide, and we now offer access to Kimberley, a certified Transformational Life Coach who conducts pre-op and post-op coaching sessions with all of our plastic surgery patients.

“We’ve seen that coupling coaching with surgery really gives people the whole package. That they can have the surgery and experience long-lasting contentment and happiness in who they are,” Kimberley explains.

Our 4 most popular plastic surgery procedures for 2024

 1. Male Chest

As a renowned gynecomastia surgeon in London and worldwide, it’s no surprise that male chest reduction is our most popular procedure. Mr Alex Karidis won the prestigious Hackett Memorial Prize awarded by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) for his innovative gynecomastia stitching technique that took a facelift technique and applied it for optimal results in reshaping the male chest.

2. Liposuction

Liposuction has firmly established itself as one of the most sought-after procedures at our clinic. It is an invaluable tool for addressing a variety of aesthetic concerns.

Liposuction is highly versatile and often works in harmony with other cosmetic procedures. To enhance results, it’s commonly paired with surgeries such as tummy tucks or breast reductions. This combined approach provides patients a more holistic transformation, tackling several aesthetic concerns in one surgical operation.

3. Facelift

In recent years, different techniques, such as the deep plane facelift, have been touted as the only way to perform a facelift, but, as Mr Alex Karidis explains, this could actually be doing patients a disservice.

“There is zero-point advertising that you do a specific facelift, such as a deep plane or SMAS facelift. I feel this is disingenuous. It tells you absolutely nothing about a particular surgeon’s ability to implement the correct technique for your specific needs or deal with your specific problems, which more than likely requires a combination of different techniques to give you the best and most natural outcome.

“My experience allows me to use a wide range of techniques according to your particular problem and needs. This is what I can offer.”

4. Abdominoplasty

In line with most recently released cosmetic surgery figures, abdominoplasty is the fourth most popular procedure at Karidis Clinic.

The tummy tuck records significant patient satisfaction as it is often the only remedy for lax, separated abdominal muscles caused by pregnancy and is a common concern for many women long after they have given birth.

Carey underwent a tummy tuck and liposuction to address these issues, as she explained in the first Konfidence with Alex Karidis podcast:

“From the moment I met you, I felt I could be myself. I could just talk to you and say what I wanted, and I wouldn’t sound like I was being stupid. Specifically, my concerns were that I did have a back problem and a lack of core strength. And I asked if there was any way this could be tightened up on my inside. And you said, of course, no problem at all. My heart started jumping, and I was excited. I had made my decision…”
