A recent survey has shown that, of all the seasons, Spring is the most popular time for cosmetic surgery procedures, with a consistent spike in the number of surgeries performed between April and June every year.
Opinions vary on why this might be, with some claiming that the start of a new financial year might bring bonuses that help make the cost more manageable, and others suggesting that surgery in Spring allows us to be ready for the big Summer reveal.
Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt that Spring is a popular time to seek out that nip or tuck you’ve been thinking about through the long Winter months. We’ve put together a handy list of the advantages of undergoing some of our most popular procedures in the Springtime.
Facial rejuvenation surgery
Procedures such as facelifts and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) can have very positive, even life-changing results, but during the recovery time it is a good idea to avoid exposure to the sun, as the skin will be very sensitive to UV rays for several weeks after surgery.
You may also find that there is some swelling and bruising after each of these procedures, meaning that you might wish to avoid too many social events until that has fully resolved and the final results can be seen.
This makes Spring the perfect time for any one of these ops, as you can stay inside to appreciate those weak April rays, and by the time the hot weather comes you are ready to go out and enjoy it (ensuring that you are wearing a good SPF 50, of course!).
Body reshaping procedures
With plastic surgery procedures like abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or liposuction, the aim is to produce a sculpted physique that you want to show off. However, you can’t walk straight out of the operating theatre and on to the beach: as with all surgical operations, there is some downtime required post op, and there may be some initial swelling, too.
By choosing to undergo body shaping surgery in Spring, you can ensure that by the time Summer rolls around, the results of your op are at their very best, and ready to be flaunted in your swimwear or more revealing outfits.
Male breast reduction
Male breast reduction surgery (gynaecomastia) is one of the most popular procedures we offer. Much like the body shaping procedures listed above, it is a good idea to have this surgery a few weeks before you intend to show off the results, making Spring a popular choice.
Another reason to undergo male breast reduction surgery in Spring is that there tends to be a lot of associated swelling during the recovery period. The heat of Summer can make this very uncomfortable, whilst in Winter you might find all those extra layers of clothing quite restrictive. The balmy days of Spring, on the other hand, present that perfect middle ground, allowing you to recuperate from surgery as comfortably as possible.
