How does SkinPen Precision work?
As we age, the structure of our skin naturally deteriorates, which generally leads to a loss in elasticity, uneven texture and enlarged pores, alongside lines and wrinkles.
SkinPen Precision creates micro-injuries within the skin’s surface, which then trigger our natural healing process. As the skin heals, collagen is formed, leading to smoother, more youthful looking skin.
Any skincare product applied to the skin after – or even during – a SkinPen Precision treatment will be absorbed into the deep layers of your skin, increasing its efficacy and providing faster, more visible results.
Hygienic and safe, SkinPen Precision has a single use design, covered with a disposable Bio-Sleeve, removing the possibility of any cross-contamination.
How does SkinPen Precision differ to derma rolling?
Manual derma rolling is generally less effective than the more advanced SkinPen Precision. A class 11 device which was engineered in the USA, the 14-tip needle head produces 98,000 micro-injuries per minute, whereas a derma roller produces around 400 per second.
The needles of a derma roller enter and exit the skin at an angle, creating lateral ‘tears’ in the epidermis. This is more painful than SkinPen Precision, which enters the skin at 90 degrees. The device can also easily treat hard to reach areas around the nose, eyes and mouth, which a derma roller cannot.
How long does a SkinPen treatment take?
A single SkinPen treatment lasts around 30 minutes and can be performed at any time throughout the year. For the best results, we recommend you have at least three procedures, with an optimum number of six.
Are there any side effects after a SkinPen treatment?
The most you should notice after a SkinPen is a level of redness similar to mild sunburn. This should fade fully within 48 hours.
