The first 24 hours: buccal fat removal is minimally invasive so there is little downtime afterwards and you’ll be able to return home the same day.

The first week: your cheeks may feel sore for the first week and you will be advised to eat soft foods. There will be some swelling, but most patients find they can return to work after a few days.

Full recovery: the results of buccal fat removal will be visible once all swelling has subsided which should take between four and six weeks. Since the incision is made through the cheeks, there will no visible scarring.
