After qualifying as a nurse in 2018 from the University of Hertfordshire, Stevie’s introduction to nursing was at a busy A&E department in North London. Her aspiration was to work in the cosmetic surgery sector, but she felt that to do this job to the best of her ability, it was essential she was confident and competent in responding to any surgical complications.

Stevie joined Karidis Clinic as Surgical Nurse in May 2021 when the opportunity arose to work with such a renowned surgeon, supported by a great team.

“I believe everybody deserves to look and feel their best, so if cosmetic surgery can help you achieve that then you should go for it. I love the transformation from body dissatisfaction to total body confidence.

“Working in A&E meant only seeing patients for a very limited part of their journey. What I love about my current role is that I help patients prepare for their procedure, care for them on the day of the surgery, regularly check up on them afterwards and become a friend on the end of the phone while they are recovering.”

My top surgery recovery tips would be:

Compression – Compression after surgery is really important and the benefits for your comfort and results are well worth it. Make sure that you wear your garment after surgery as instructed to (if required) as it will minimise swelling, bruising and pain – subsequently speeding up your healing & recovery time!

Look after your scars – Massaging with a scar reducing product (at the appropriate time after surgery) can aid in flattening and fading your scars. Also make sure you protect and cover your scars from UV light for at least a year after surgery. You can use a high factor SPF once safe to do so if the scars are difficult to hide with clothing.

“The care I received was second to none. Stevie the surgical nurse is fantastic and a lovely person and Dr Lomax the anaesthetist was calm and kind and informative. The whole team are rock stars and I couldn’t be happier. Communication is great, the operation was superb and stress/pain free and I woke up to amazing food. Couldn’t ask for more.

Stevie Goddard was my nurse and she couldn’t have been lovelier and was so helpful before, during and after and always at the end of the phone if I needed her. I was out the same day of the operation and I couldn’t be more delighted with the result, it’s genuinely miraculous what he’s managed to do and I feel like I’ve been given a new lease of life. The recovery has been absolutely fine with zero complications but loads of support from everyone at the Karidis team – can’t recommend them more and it’s been more than worth every penny!.”

Mr. Karidis is kind and understanding and his staff are so supportive. Stevie, the nurse, was so reassuring and friendly and saw me through my surgery, before and after.”

“My experience I found to be meeting my higher expectations and surpassing entirely. The staff, to be specific Stevie who sorted my case out was absolutely perfect and gave relevant, concise and reassuring information to ensure no stone was left unturned.”
