Facial harmony is achieved when the upper, middle and lower third of the face is in balance. A weak chin or undefined jawline can make the whole face, particularly the nose, look out of proportion.
As the chin plays such a huge role in the overall appearance of the face, if you have a weak chin and it is affecting your self-confidence, you might want to consider cosmetic correction.
What are the causes of weak chin?
Most of the time, a weak chin is caused by ageing. It is natural to start losing bone and muscle as you get older, particularly in the face. When you lose soft tissue and bone around the jaw, it can cause it to recede.
You can also be born with a natural weak chin, or it may be caused by overbite.
How can I tell if I have a weak chin?
A weak chin tends to be genetic. If your parents or grandparents have a weak chin, it is more likely you will too. There will be very little jaw definition, and you may appear to have a double chin.
