What causes the skin to look dehydrated?
The skin starts to look dehydrated due to a lack of water content. This is typically caused by factors such as seasonal changes and indoor central heating. What are the signs and symptoms of dehydrated skin?
The main symptom of dehydrated skin is a dull, dry appearance. When it is dehydrated, the skin isn’t able to carry out its most basic functions. These include cell turnover, which means the outer layer will not shed as much as usual.
This leads to an increased amount of dead skin cells on the surface, causing a dull appearance. Other symptoms of dehydration include itchy skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.
