Varicose Vein Surgeon at the Karidis Clinic

David graduated from the University of Leeds in 1989 and has trained at major vascular units in Nottingham and Sheffield in the UK and Adelaide in Australia. Since qualifying, he has established himself as a world-renowned expert in venous disease as well as pioneering the modern management of varicose veins.

He now trains, lectures and teaches doctors internationally and is on the European Venous Forum faculty and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. Alongside his private practice, his main NHS practice is based at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and the Vascular Society.

David’s philosophy:

I’m extremely thorough and I believe it’s that attention to detail which sets my practice apart. Most patients with typically present with one unsightly vein that is bothering them aesthetically, but every consultation will include an ultrasound that will assess the health of your veins. I can then indicate which ones may also cause problems later on, reducing the risk of needing more treatment in the future

David offers patients at the Karidis Clinic the most cutting-edge and minimally invasive treatment of varicose and other superficial veins, including Endovenous Laser Ablation or EVLA and infra-red guided sclerotherapy, and can perform phlebectomy to remove varicose veins at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. His technical rate for varicose veins is 99% and he achieves very high patient satisfaction.

As well as the treatment of superficial vein problems, David can also treat excessive sweating and facial blushing.
