At Karidis Clinic, we know how amazing CoolSculpting is, but we were delighted when Lisa Snowdon was recently announced as the UK ambassador as it meant the news would fast spread of its fabulous fat-freezing results.

Model and TV star Lisa first discovered CoolSculpting when a friend introduced her to the fat reduction treatment. Like many of us, following a healthy diet and exercise programme, there were still some stubborn pockets of fat that just wouldn’t shift.

“I recently had CoolSculpting, which worked brilliantly to target the stubborn little areas of fat on my inner thighs that have always refused to go, whatever I do.

So, if you’re looking for a solution to any lockdown weight gain or want to get in the best possible shape for when we can resume normal life, here is all the information you need to know about what Lisa describes as an “incredible treatment”.

First, what is CoolSculpting exactly?

The technical name for this treatment is cryolipolysis which means fat freezing. Scientists discovered that fat cells can’t survive below a certain temperature and the body then just naturally eliminates them. CoolSculpting is now FDA-approved to remove fat from nine areas of the body: under the chin and jaw, the thigh, abdomen, flank, bra fat, back fat, under the buttocks and the upper arm.

Is CoolSculpting painful?

Unlike fat reduction procedure liposuction, CoolSculpting does not involve any incisions and once your skin has adjusted to the cold sensation, you shouldn’t feel any discomfort during your treatment.

As Lisa commented: “I was just checking some emails and before I knew it, the treatment was over.”

Is CoolSculpting suitable for anyone?

CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure, but instead targets stubborn pockets of fat so your body will look more contoured, and your clothes will fit better. Like Lisa, it’s important you’re committed to a healthy lifestyle to ensure optimal results: “CoolSculpting works in conjunction with the way I live my life. My advice would be to incorporate this treatment if you are active, you take good care of yourself, and want to shift any areas of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet or exercise.”

As the body metabolises the frozen fat cells over time, the skin’s natural elasticity means it will shrink to your new contours. Older patients or those with less skin elasticity may experience some skin sagging after losing the underlying fat, but our aesthetic practitioners can advise you on what results you can expect.
