From couch to cafe: Brits planning beauty blowout post lockdown

post lockdown beauty blowout

As lockdown lifts, the latest consumer research has found that Brits are planning a huge spending spree. eBay UK has found that ‘going out’ clothes are now topping search terms instead of lounge and leisure wear which dominated through quarantine.

Another recently published consumer report found that we were likely to focus our initial spending on three basic needs: a holiday, self-care and some leisure time out of the house. In fact, a staggering 90% of consumers surveyed said they were planning on indulging in personal care services such as a haircut, beauty appointment or aesthetic treatment as lockdown lifts.

One trend we’ve noticed in clinic is demand for treatments that don’t involve a long downtime. Now the clinic is fully open, our aesthetic practitioners are busy with appointments for anti-ageing injectables and procedures such as Ultherapy that tightens and lifts the skin without any scarring or downtime.

Tess Daly recommends ultherapyStunning TV personality Tess Daly has just revealed that Ultherapy is the secret behind her glowing and youthful but totally natural look. She recently turned 52 and wanted a treatment that fit in with her lifestyle and outlook on beauty: “A friend of mine had had the treatment a few months earlier, and she looked so great,” she says. “She looked well-rested and her skin was glowing. I thought ‘ok, let’s give this a go’. I loved the fact that Ultherapy boosts your own collagen for natural-looking results, and that it was a non-invasive treatment. I think it’s quite a revelation really.”

“I’m a big believer of looking after my skin as I do with my general health. There’s lots of ways we can look after our bodies, I try to eat well with a balance of nutritious food (with the odd treat here and there!). I like to be active and on the go with regular walks and exercise, and practice mindfulness through yoga and meditation.

“I have a great skincare routine and like to add a treatment for my skin when it needs it. It’s all about looking after what you’ve got! Which is why I’m a big fan of Ultherapy, it’s a treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of your collagen. It works with your own skin to leave you looking refreshed and like you have had a good eight hours’ sleep!”

The natural and non-surgical facelift

Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to target the deep structural layers of the skin. Collagen is a protein that provides the strength and support in these deep layers of the dermis whereas elastin is a highly flexible and elastic component in the skin that allows it to snap back into position when we make facial expressions. As we age, levels of collagen and elastin naturally deplete, contributing to skin laxity and sagging. Ultherapy repairs skin tissue and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin so you get a gradual lifting effect with no downtime.

For patients that are starting to see the first signs of skin ageing and want a natural boost with no downtime, Ultherapy can be an effective solution. Whether you want a full facial rejuvenation or a more targeted brow or jaw lift, call us on 020 7432 8727 to find out if you’re suitable for Ultherapy.
