Pucker up for Valentine’s Day

London Lip Fillers

It’s that time of year when you suddenly become conscious that your lips are less than luscious and you start to look for ways to perfect your pout. It’s long been known that the lips are often a woman’s most attractive facial feature; in fact, scientists discovered that in the ten seconds after a man meets a woman for the first time, he will spend more than half this time gazing at her mouth.

What makes the perfect lip?

Beauty is a very individual concept and our aesthetic practitioners always take into account each patient’s unique lip shape and size, as well as overall facial balance, when enhancing with lip fillers, but is there such a thing as pout perfection?

Full lips are the most preferred lip shape, but one recent global survey of 1,000 people from 35 different countries found that the key to the ultimate lip look is actually symmetry. Published in the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, the survey found that more than 60% of respondents chose the 1:1 ratio between the upper and lower lip as the most attractive shape, as sported by Scarlett Johansson. Second, came a fuller lower lip, whether natural or enhanced as in the case of Kylie Jenner.

A highly defined Cupid’s bow is also perceived as highly attractive and dermal fillers can be used to enhance and further define the natural vertical columns of the upper lip.

De-age your lips

Your lip shape and size are genetically determined, but sadly we all get thinner lips overtime. Just as your skin starts to sag, your lips will thin as the natural levels of collagen in our dermis begin to decline when we hit our twenties and thirties. The lips will also start to look less moist and plump, whatever lip balm or moisturiser you apply, as naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid is lost.

There are also certain lifestyle factors that can speed up how our lips age – smoking is the big no-no as it speeds up collagen depletion and causes little lines to appear that mar the defined contours of the lips.

At Karidis Clinic, we offer the Belotero Lips Shape and Contour lip fillers, specially formulated to filling fine lines as well as restoring or enhancing your natural volume. The two products complement each other to create a naturally beautiful lip augmentation. On the other hand, on we also offer lip reduction surgery for those looking for smaller, thinner lips.

Get the perfect pout this Valentine’s Day – we’re offering a special February promotion on our Lip Fillers using the Belotero Shape & Contour for £350 (USUALLY £450).

Just as lipstick and lipliner work together, Belotero Lips Shape adds volume to the upper and lower lip, while Belotero Lips Contour defines your lip contours
