ACHIEVE A NATURAL, PROPORTIONATE APPEARANCE

The way you feel about the appearance of your breasts affects so many aspects of your life, and your areola is central to the overall look. Your areola is the circular pigmented skin surrounding your nipple, and it can vary enormously simply due to genetics. Areolas can also change over time as they’re part of your skin, which stretches when you grow. So if you have put on weight, the areolas can become larger.

Sometimes enlarged areolas can cause your breasts to look unbalanced, asymmetrical or disproportionate. This can make you feel embarrassed and can knock your confidence. To correct this, we offer areola reduction surgery to create a natural-looking, perfectly proportioned areola, performed by highly skilled and experienced surgeons with this specific area of expertise. We’ll work with you to ensure that you feel better about yourself.

WHAT IS AREOLA REDUCTION?

Areola reduction is a procedure designed to reduce your large areolas by reshaping and resizing them for a look which is in proportion to the shape and size of your breasts. It’s suitable for both men and women.

Although the procedure focuses on your areolas, you can combine it with other procedures to enhance the whole breast, such as breast augmentation, breast reduction and a breast lift.

During your areola reduction surgery, the outer area of your areola is removed, and the skin around it is gathered inwards to surround the areola. Inside the areola, absorbable stitches reduce the diameter.

WHY MIGHT AREOLA REDUCTION BE REQUIRED?

The most common reason areola reduction is required is simply down to genetics and an unhappiness about how they look, but there are other reasons too. Areola reduction surgery can also help to create attractive areolas when they have become enlarged or misshapen due to:

  • Breastfeeding
  • Pregnancy
  • The natural ageing process
  • Trauma (damaged breast tissue)
  • Weight loss
